  14. 1. DESCRIPTION- CBSuite Super Suite of Components for Delphi 1 & 2
  15. ==================================================================
  16. CBSuite consists of 5 powerful Delpi component modules brought together
  17. in a single suite. It consists of the following modules which are
  18. also sold separately namely:
  19.  (1) Printit - A group of components for printing forms and Windows
  20.  (2) Reportit - A group of components for printing reports, files
  21.      and Memos.
  22.  (3) Sortit - An enhanced TDBGrid which allows for automatic sorting
  23.      by clicking on the headers. Also works with Printit and Reportit.
  24.  (4) Graphit - A new group of components for generating, viewing and
  25.      printing various graphs. Also works together with Printit, Bandit
  26.      and Sortit.
  27.  (5) Bandit - Enables you to print reports and/or forms. Database
  28.      details up to any depth with Totals + SubTotals. Can also print
  29.      3rdParty components.

  32. This copy of CBSuite  displays a UNREGISTERED COPY OF CBSuite message on the
  33. screen when preparing a printout and prints a UNREGISTERED COPY OF CBSuite
  34. message on all printouts if not registered. If you register, you will receive
  35. an activation code that disables the nag screen and nag message printed at the
  36. bottom of each printout. After an evaluation period of 30 days all other
  37. components will also display a nag screen.

  50. 2. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  53. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  54. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
  55. register. Individual programs differ on details -- some request registration
  56. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With registration
  57. , you get anything from the simple right to continue using the software to an
  58. updated program with printed manual.

  60. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
  61. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
  62. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
  63. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both
  64. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in
  65. the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to
  66. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific
  67. group. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
  68. disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  70. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
  71. software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or
  72. Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
  73. can try before you buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.

  75. product, you don't pay for it.

  78. 3. DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT

  81. Users of CBSuite must accept this disclaimer of warranty: "CBSuite is supplied
  82. as is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, including,
  83. without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any
  84. purpose. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
  85. which may result from the use of CBSuite." CBSuite is a "shareware product"
  86. and is provided at no charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share
  87. it with your friends, but please do not give it away when registered. The
  88. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer users
  89. with quality software without high prices, and yet to provide incentive for
  90. programmers to continue to develop new products.  If you find this product
  91. useful and find that you are using CBSuite and continue to use CBSuite after
  92. a reasonable trial period, you must register it with Calitz Bros. through Kagi
  93. software or Compuserve.  This registration fee will license one copy for use
  94. on any one computer at any one time. The registration and the activation code
  95. will be valid for future minor upgrades,  bug fixes and enhancements to
  96. CBSuite Version 5.x.   When we have received your payment,  we will e-mail,
  97. fax or post your activation code to you. You must treat this software just
  98. like a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any number of
  99. people and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so long
  100. as there is no possibility of it being used at one location while it's being
  101. used at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at
  102. the same time. Programs developed by using the CBSuite components may be
  103. distributed without any additional royalties.

  105. Commercial users of CBSuite must register and pay for their copies of CBSuite
  106. within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

  108. Anyone distributing CBSuite for any kind of remuneration must first contact
  109. Calitz Bros. at the address below for authorization. This authorization will
  110. be automatically granted to shareware distributors, and such distributors
  111. may begin offering CBSuite immediately (However Calitz Bros. must still be
  112. advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest version
  113. of CBSuite.).

  115. CBSuite has a nag screen which displays when CBSuite is not registered. If not
  116. registered then the not registered message will also print on all reports and
  117. printouts. If registered the message on the reports will be replaced by the
  118. user's own wording or nothing if required.

  120. You are encouraged to pass a copy of CBSuite along to your friends for
  121. evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they find
  122. that they can use it.

  125. 4. THE ZIP FILES

  127. CBSuite consists of the following files:

  129. 1. SU1CP_16.ZIP - The 16-bit components for Delphi 1.x
  130. 2. SU1CP_32.ZIP - The 32-bit components for Delphi 2.x
  131. 3. SU1HLP.ZIP   - The .HLP and .KWF files
  132. 4. SU1SRC.ZIP   - Source code of the demos
  133. 5. SU1DEMO.ZIP  - Demo execuatable showing all 5 modules
  134. 6. REGISTER.ZIP - Register
  135. 7. ACTIVATE.ZIP - Activation program.
  136. 8. HISTORY.LOG  - History log of updates

  138. The 16-bit components should be extracted into a separate directory
  139. than the 32-bit components.

  141. 5. INSTALLING CBSUITE COMPONENTS
  142. --------------------------------
  143.  
  144. 5.1. Backup the component library file named COMPLIB.DCL in your \DELPHI\BIN
  145. directory.  This will allow you to restore your component library if you
  146. encounter any problems during the installation process.
  147.  
  148. 5.2. Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  149. Click on the Add button when the Install Components dialog is displayed.
  150.  
  151.      To install CBSuite,
  152.  
  153.             Click on the Browse button and select the file CBSUITE.PAS
  154.             in the directory where CBSuite  was installed, usually
  155.             C:\CBSuite\d16 (for Delphi 1.x) or C:\CBSuite\d32 (for
  156.             Delphi 2.x) development.

  158. 5.3. Click on OK to return to the Install Components Dialog Box and click
  159. on OK to accept the changes.  DELPHI will now install the new components.
  160. A new page will be created on the component bar called  CBSuite that contains
  161. the new components.

  164. 6. INSTALLING THE KEYWORD HELP (To access from Delphi)
  165. ------------------------------------------------------
  166. 6.1     Copy all .KWF files to the \DELPHI\HELP directory
  167.  
  168. 6.2.    Execute the file  HELPINST.EXE  in the \DELPHI\HELP directory.
  169.  
  170. 6.3.    Select  File | Open  from the menu.
  171.  
  172. 6.4.    Open the file  DELPHI.HDX  in the  \DELPHI\BIN directory.
  173.  
  174. 6.5.    Select  Keywords |Add  Keyword file from the menu.
  175.  
  176. 6.6.    Select the files  CBSuite.KWF, Printit.KWF, Reportit.KWF,
  177.         Sortit.KWF, Graphit.KWF in the \DELPHI\BIN directory.

  179. 6.7.    Select  File | Save from the menu.

  182. Note:  To access help from the demos - Copy the help files named
  183. CBSuite.HLP, Printit.HLP, Reportit.HLP, Sortit.HLP and Graphit.HLP
  184. in the CBSuite directory to your windows directory.

  187. 7. REMOVING CBSuite COMPONENTS
  188. ------------------------------
  189.  
  190. 7.1.  Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  191. Click on the CBSuite unit (to remove CBSuite) and then on the Remove button.

  193. 7.2.  Click on OK to remove the components from the component bar.
  194.  
  195. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 1.x FOR 16 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  196. 7.3.    Remove the directory C:\CBSuite\d16 or the directory where CBSuite was
  197. installed.

  199. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen

  203. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 2.x FOR 32 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  204. 7.3.  Remove the directory C:\CBSuite\d32 or the directory where CBSuite was
  205. installed.

  207. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen
  208.  
  209. 7.5.  Remove the complete directory C:\CBSuite to remove all trace of CBSuite

  212. 8. GENERAL INFORMATION
